Archipelagic Thinking and the Borderwaters: A US Eccentric View

Brian Russell Roberts will join us to discuss his current book project. He is the author of Artistic Ambassadors: Literary and International Representation of the New Negro Era (2013), co-editor of Indonesian Notebook: A Sourcebook on Richard Wright and the Bandung Conference (2016), collaborator of a translation, Oceans of Longing: Nine Stories (2018), a book of short stories by Indonesian writer Sitor Situmorang, and co-editor of Archipelagic American Studies (2017) a volume of essays that departs from conventional narratives of the United States and the Americas as constituted by and accountable to an assemblage of interconnected islands, archipelagos, shorelines, continents, seas, and oceans.
