I really don’t understand the ending. It was extremely abrupt and I know it was supposed to be mysterious but I just felt a sense of confusion less than terror. If I had to answer this question, I would say that it was Pym facing the sublime but I’m not sure why at this point in his character development the novel would just end. I know not every story has a happy ending but this novel doesn’t seem to have an ending. Pym just gets lucky, once again, like at every other turn of events in the novel and then they see a white figure.
